WRONG... if someone sees this sport for the first time and it doesn't look perfect than chances are they'll never think about it again. I didn't get to watch it but I heard it wasn't that great...

I've been watching it. It is interesting how they've modified it to seem "mainstream" ... they've associated the teams with their cities just like major league sports teams in other sports ... the San Diego Dynasty, the Sacramento XSV, Portland Naughty Dogs, etc. And they even sometimes substitute the city name for the team name in some commentary.

Matt Marshall I believe is the color guy, and he's doing a pretty good job although IMO he tosses around terms like "killed" and "die" for eliminations a wee bit too much for my comfort (could be a product of the paintball era I'm from).

Overall I think this coverage is pretty good BUT a big complaint is that every telecast looks exactly the same! It's hard to tell to the casual observer whether one episode is different from another -- paintball doesn't yet have the kind of name recognition to know whether XSV vs Podunk A is a different game than XSV vs. Dynasty, let alone what the ramifications are. Also, the intro and outtro video clips are exactly the same, which contribute to the "sameness" problem.

I DO like the graphics they use, they pull to wide shots fairly often and highlight players behind bunkers, and even animate shooting lanes. I have not seen that yet in other paintball coverage.

In the end though, it's a LOT of coverage of paintball on a fairly mainstream channel, and I think overall it's positive.

I was reading pgi the other day and it turns out ESPNhas sighned a deal with the NXL and there's a pending deal for the NPPL...

Has paintball finally left its mark on TV?

Also for those of you familiar with the UAPL on WGN its also on next season but this time in HD; that's  some cool stuff right there...
