What was your method of connecting the ram to the sled?

A lot of people probably don't have scales accurate enough to get a good measurement of the weight of their marker.  I have 2 halfblocks, both are MQ'ed and mini'ed.  One is a delrin turtle and the other in a Martin.  The Martin weighed 2lbs 10oz with the bottom line and aluminum barrel.  I believe both bottom lines + the CP reg weigh 8.0oz and the aluminum barrel weighed either 4 or 6 oz if I remember right.  The CP reg according to the weights and measures project in the content, with a 90 degree macro fitting is 3.4oz.  I use straight fittings that weigh roughly 0.4oz less than the 90 degree fittings.  Brings the weight of the Martin in around 2lbs even or so including the 9V battery in the grip frame.

The delrin turtle is midgeted and has the aluminum sleeve in the body (some of the very early ones were solid delrin I believe).  With the carbon fiber barrel (Deadlywind Wisper) and bottom line it weighs 2lbs 2oz.  The barrel weighs ~2.2oz with an insert and the bottom line again weighs 8.0oz including the CP reg even which puts the weight without barrel or bottom line in around 1lb 11oz including the battery in the grip frame.  Average weight of a 9V is 1.8oz from google, though I use a rechargable Powerex that probably weighs a hair more, especially given that the Powerex battery is a little longer than a standard 9V.

I have some fairly high quality electronic scales so they should be pretty accurate, but my weight was without a battery installed so is probably nearer the 1Lb 11oz mark aswell.
Gonna get me one of those deadlywind barrels aswell, theyr sweet Cheesy

pump: yeh I milled out a load from the front and drilled the inside out using my lathe and then had to retap it, there is rather an uneccecarry amount of ally inside the chamber just infront of the valve, there is like a 6mm venturi about 1 inch long which is pretty bad for expansion, but since I have an MQ valve and no need for a valve spring I milled it all out and I should get much better expansion just infront of the valve which is handy.

peerless: If you look on the pics at the sled you can just about see two grub screws, these screw down and lock it on, this is actually one of the only things im worried about maybe not being durable enough but I guess well see when the paintball season starts again Tongue

I love my Deadlywind barrel.  Mine only has 1 O-ring to hold the Freak insert in place, so I'm sure it's not THE most accurate barrel, but I can't find anything wrong with its accuracy.  I didn't trust the Stiffi switch kit and its extremely short bore changers to work as well and I already had a full Freak kit basically just laying around.

Like you, on my delrin turtle I drilled out the narrow part of the valve chamber that normally holds the valve spring in place.  It saved another 0.1 ounce and gave me more volume inside the valve chamber, win-win.  I've been aiming for 2lbs or less including the barrel and battery.  I need a lighter ASA.  I have a few other tricks left to try as well.  Unfortunately, I don't have a full machine shop, so I can't do any kind of milling myself.

And a side note, I use a USB scale on my computer that was intended to be used by eBay auction sellers to weigh packages and automatically go out to UPS, USPS, and Fedex's website to calculate postage.

I shot this thing properly for the first time with a chrono today and my god is it consistent, no exaduration I'm getting +/- 1 or 2 fps with the odd freak of 4 or so. I was in amazement!
Decided to put some QEV's on the ram though because the cycle time is a bit longer than I would like.
Got a vid here but it was taken in the dark with an LED torch lol, so its pretty bad. but its all I have....
