06 Catapults

I am looking for thoughts or commits

My personal mission is to build the best marker. Since it takes many hours of designing trial and error and machining I will be producing a few more to sell to help support my hobby.
Depending on time 5-50 bodies will be made available to the general public.

Note: It takes around $5000.00 to produce a finished prototype after you include tooling machining time of many test bodies (im on #10 I think). Designing hours other costs etc.
I hoping to make back the development costs though the sale of these bodies.

I am close to finishing the prototype and will be heading out to the field soon for the beta testers to have a go at it. Then it’s going over to the PBX guys for approval. So that It can be a certified PBX custom.

Goals:
Release Date: January 2006 or earlier
Midblock design
full body with short back -No MQ spacer needed. MQ valve pre installed-perfect alignment.
Internal ego break beam eyes(Must have E2 or Zero B)
Delrin Bolt
Aluminum pump arm-match anodized
Snap fit feed neck
Price: TBA

Well, it's probably a moot point, but have you looked at http://www.emachineshop.com/ to do the production work?  It might save some $$$ but mabye not.

Either way, I'm looking forward to these.  I definetly like the look of the Cat, and the new ones seem like they will be even slicker.  I'd love to Beta, but I live a fair bit away (and you have no idea who I am anyways)... oh well.

Gosh I would love to commit to one of these, but I'm not in the market for another high-end. But who knows, maybe I'll win huge in Vegas?

Ken,

I think most halfblock/midblock cocker owners are simply after uniqueness and speed. Weight is also a factor for some (mini-halfbacked...mmm), but I know for myself having a truely 'custom' feel marker is what makes it A+.

I live in the central Ontario area, and am a current autococker owner/user looking to get a mid/half block cocker. If your looking for a beta tester with cocker parts, I'm more then willing to donate my time (personal and tournament) and cocker parts to field test these and help troubleshoot them. I would be more then a little thrilled to even help out with this.

Shoot me an email, or PM me here if I can be of any help testing, and I am also definatly interested in purchasing one of these bodies afterwards also!

Regards,

Ken, I was just looking at the photo gallery of the 06 protopytle again.  I have a quick comment/ question.

I personally like an ASA that is 0 degrees or less (a la the -15 of the Karnivor).  In the photos it looks like the ASA you ahve made is kicked slightly forward.  But is also looks like it would be easy to turn 180 degrees.  Is this the case?

My 2 cents is I'd prefer a straight ASA or one andled back a bit towards the frame.

Hmm did I forget to note on there that the ASA is reversible? Ken included that piece of information with those images.

I'm also interested in a 06 Catapult. Currently shooting a nice upped E2 but I really want a half/mid block. Interested in testing also. I'm from Ohio and the local field is only about 15 mins away and I'm there a few times a month. During the winter they also offer indoor so I could test through the off season if need be. I would love to take a Catapult to IAO (ODG) next year. On a side note... I handle web design, hosting, etc. Are you interested in a website (be it information or an online store)?

Is there anyway to get on some sort of pre-order list Cheesy I know it must be getting repetitive, but I would be more than willing to test prototype products. I'm walking distance from my local field and there indoor field is open year round... not to mention I'm on the computer everyday so updates would be constant.

I would not count on being a tester for anything. Honestly, is there any reason Ken should choose you over someone he personally knows/trusts/respects?

I know  , I just figured I'd let him know I was here... No real reason to chose me other than the fact I could test year round (not that big a deal considering he wanted a release date of Jan. or sooner)....... I just thought I'd offer Sad
