Well I was wondering if it is hard to convert your cocker to a half block by yourself.  I own a Fastback and it cost me 350$ just for the body.  I'm hoping that it would be much cheaper to make one myself and I would not have to wait for the body to arrive.  Has anyone made their own and if so what tools do you need?

Basically, you're not going to save much money making it yourself. It is going to take a LOT of time on the machines to duplicate even the small parts in the kits, and if you buy them pre-made they cost a pretty penny. A backblock for a Turtle cocker costs like $70.

You may save time, but you are probably never going to duplicate the quality of work in a Fastback.

I mean look at it, would you even know where to begin? Like the FAQ says, if you have to ask about making your own halfblock, you most likely can't do it.

In the end you're better off looking at getting one done or buying one already done. It takes a long time and/or costs a lot, it's true. But that's just part of the halfblock reality. And exclusivity isn't such a bad thing, is it?
